January Plotting Post
JANUARY PLOTTING.
It's great to have all of you here. We hope you enjoy this quick update on what's going on in the game!
State of South SisterCurrently, the worst of the cold is behind us! The snow levels lessen as there is intermittent bouts of rain and slush, making it so it is barely a few inches, and at times, only an inch or so off the ground. It still gets cold at night, and there is an icy fog that hurts to breathe in at night. But, with a little central heat for the houses and fireplaces in the cottages, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Location ChangesThis month will be an exciting one though! There are many features that are being added to the map this month. This includes: a dojo for practicing fighting, a library for books and various types of media, as well as a cave system that opens up on the Northern edges of the island, near the woods! More on that will be covered in the plot description below.
This month, we’re going to do something a little different. While the library will be free to explore, the caves will initially appear shallow and uninteresting… until the discovery of cursed books in the library teleports some Wickies deep into the cave system! Look to the comments below to sign your character up for being Trapped in the caves, or Rescuing those entombed within.
Those that are trapped within the tunnels will, for the first few days, have no way out, and only a few water sources here and there. There will be a film of darkness that seems to go over any light source, and the tunnels themselves are a confusing labyrinth with many dead ends.
There are two additional dangers: firstly, holes which, if climbed into, can cause Wickies to crush themselves to death, and secondly, wendigos that have been trapped within the cave system for some time. These beings crave flesh and are difficult to fight against, as they can trick their prey with mimicry.
Rescuers will be able to break through into the tunnel system and free the survivors by the middle of the month. Unfortunately, this will allow the wendigos to escape and start hunting on the surface. Other monsters will be seen as well: familiar-looking figures struggling and grimacing in what looks like a straight jacket made of their own skin.
These monsters have warnings for gore, cannibalism, and body horror. The caves also hold a warning for claustrophobia and crushing, so if these are not for you, please exercise care!
Information on the dojo has been added to the locations page. The caves and library will be added on January 9 when the event goes live. If you have any questions about the event, please hit us up below. Otherwise, have fun, and feel free to start plotting!

I can try and push myself for this event cause I like the idea of Leanne being trapped and potentially dying. Would we need to write out the detailed encounter with the wendigo or can it be glossed over?

also since this involves lots of Rocks I am obliged to ask if it is okay for zhongli to do some earthbending in the tunnels to make the spaces larger/more navigable. he wouldn't just magic the whole place though because he knows that it has a serious risk of making the whole system collapse, so I wanted to find a a more reasonable middle-ground between being IC and being respectful of other players.

2) If I attack physically using a sword, is their any soft parts of their body that has a weakness to cause bleeding or hack off a body/limb part?
What I'm looking for is to definitely killing monster, but to also to injure and hinder their movements to allow others to buy time and escape.

Character Deets: Hua Cheng is a ghost king who is currently spending most of his time disguised as a very friendly teenage boy who is surprisingly knowledgeable about various random topics!
He is not hiding his power level so feel free to notice that he actually has an oppressive amount of spiritual energy at his disposal. Also, he sends out little silver butterflies that act as spies. If you'd like to have him eavesdrop on your character, lmk!
What are you excited to do in game?: Hua Cheng really just needs to build some cr with people who aren't Xie Lian tbh. But he's very into the whole mystery-solving aspect and he's sort of here to just follow Xie Lian around and do whatever he wants to do, which is probably cure the island of the mysterious disease.
Also he will tell you about our lord and savior Xie Lian, sorry about that in advance.
General Character plans?: Signing Hua Cheng up as a rescuer and he's gonna smash through walls with his fists if it means he gets to save his beloved Xie Lian. Who knows, if he has to use enough energy to fight, he might have to drop his disguise and show up as full ghost king.

Character Deets: Tifa is a martial artist/bartender with huge mom friend/big sister energy. She's friendly and helpful and definitely prone to taking people (usually kids) under her wing. She carries herself with confidence but is actually quite shy and reserved on the inside.
What are you excited to do in game?: Build cr! I'm definitely looking to develop and build relationships with her, whether they be positive or negative. Tifa will be jumping into the mysteries of this place as well so I'm looking forward to having her get out and explore.
General Character plans?: I've signed Tifa up as a rescuer! She'll be looking to rescue her trapped friends, but will be more than willing to help out anyone in need. She's good for a fight/team-up against the wendigos and other monsters. I'm also interested in having her hit up the dojo and do some sparring/training.

For the event, Xie Lian will be trapped, but he'll definitely be trying to help anyone else who is stuck. So if you need a bodyguard, some polite company, or just someone with a match in the dark, he's your guy.
If he's caught in a collapse, well, that will kinda suck because he can't really die. So if anyone would like to rescue him from getting smooshed, that would be fun too.

And all of it focused on trying to stop him from becoming a chaos gremlin. Spoilers: they failed.What are you excited to do in game?: Explore! And make friends and stop being so bogged down by work again.
General Character plans?: Wu Xie is going to get stuck in a cave like he usually does but this time there are gonna be a lot of other people who are also stuck with him which might prove a little harrowing for those around him. Luckily he carries around a backpack of sweet sweet goods so at least he can keep people from dying within a day of starving? I also dropped the ball a lot last month and really need to get back into the RP swing of things. Ooops.

Character Deets: cloud is the protagonist of ffvii, and he is very complicated. he has some issues with his memory but is otherwise fine; he's got something of an attitude, not really the nice and friendly type, but he's approachable and warms up to people over time. he thinks he's Super Cool and can, actually, do some pretty cool combat stunts—he's an ex-SOLDIER after all, meaning he's got all that military stuff under his belt (but memory issues, right). he works as a mercenary now, and is happy to do odd jobs here and there for some kind of reward??
What are you excited to do in game?: lol december kicked my ass in the rl front what with the holidays, but i'm here with renewed energy and focus. currently cloud has had really good cr, so i'm looking to strengthen that + get new cr to suffer his rather dull personality. positive and negative cr is more than welcome.
General Character plans?: i've set cloud up to be trapped for this month's event, so he's going to be a little annoyed (but i'm here for this descent/until dawn mashup) and try to do his best to protect himself and others. please give me horror in a claustrophobic setting!! he'll have a big sword, a big ego, and likely a wind materia to try and make the best of things.
also when they are rescued and terror is unleashed upon south sister, i'm happy to have him pair up with others to fight things. or be formally rescued. or, yeah.

Have you read any spooky fictional stories lately? i picked up a book from a local writer a few months back! it's short stories, a la edgar allan poe, so i just go back to it now and then. it's a spanish book,, but 'short stories for unending nightmares' might be an approximate translation. it focuses a lot on local lore so i was like oh noooo spooky i know those places/have had similar experiences/i know someone who knows someone whom that happened to.......

What are you excited to do in game?: Make friends, punch some monsters - all that good stuff.
General Character plans?: Because Jun could just teleport out of the caverns and that's no fun, he will be among the rescuers instead and have a hard time teleporting into the caverns! So he is there if anyone needs rescuing from Wendigos and getting out of the cave when it becomes an option.
Beyond that I don't have many plans for the month since its a spotty month for me IRL, but I'm open for plotting!

What are you excited to do in game?: Well, he's done getting justice for the Baixue temple, so he's mellowed out ...and resort to see Xue Yang as a punch-bag, which is a slightly and comparatively peaceful way of not stabbing and not murder
General Character plans?: No death or killing other than killing monsters! Generally, he'll try to help the rescue team to rescue and release the others trap inside, and then fight the monsters to help the others escape
I'll probably make lock starters to interested parties or tag-out to others. I can't guarantee quick boomerang, so it's ideal to set up early and not close to the end of the month. But if you're interested, I'll make a note who I am to tag and plot with!

Character Deets: Best friend of series protagonist Sora. He used to be a moody teen who dabbled in the darkness, but now he's come to terms with his past mistakes and has become a fully fledged Keyblade Master. He's more level-headed and a hard worker, but can be reckless and fiercely loyal to his friends.
What are you excited to do in game?: Well, to be honest, I'm just excited to get into some long-term horror shenanigans! Riku's a relatively new muse of mine, and I haven't been in a horror-themed game for long before, so I'm hoping I can have some horror-themed fun to shake up my usual RP flavours.
General Character plans?: Mostly kind of get settled (which he did last month), and also now discover that yes, this place really can be that bad. He's going to get trapped in the caves and get some firsthand exposure to the horrors of the game, so any fun involving that would be fun.
Outside of the event? Just developing more CR as Riku explores and tries to help find a way back home! I am totally down with developing CR of all kinds; good, bad, neutral, cross-canon, you name it!

What are you excited to do in game?: All the things! But no seriously, I want all the CR both good and bad and I want to have Leanne be more and more active here.
General Character plans?: Mainly for event but I would love for Leanne to not only rescue but also to be rescued. Not sure if I will kill her in the event but if I do, I kinda want her to do the switch places type of death, where she manages to save someone but gets got instead.
It has been far too long since I killed her. shhhhhhI do request that if/when you have wendigos nomming on people to please put a warning. And any threads with me to not go into details of hungry hungry wendigos. I am open to do fights with them! Just not them nothing. I do apologize for the inconvenience of this request.

Character Deets: he's a dumb, dumb child with a lot of tech knowledge who's had a hard time of it right now-- imean. Ethan's from a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk-esque world, he's working on a lot of things with the in-game network and stuff but mostly trying to navigate through his weird friendships and shit??? He's also got some weird circles of metal embedded in his skin here and there, it's fine. And he has Synesthesia, mostly relating to how someone 'sounds' but also some colour at least, so that's a thing.
What are you excited to do in game?: honestly, I'm just slowly swinging back into it this month and I'm excited for that. Ya boy needs to be pushed out of his comfort zone a little more and also deal with some of his choices still.
General Character plans?: I'm gonna be taking it easy this month, I think. Ethan needs a cooldown from the absolute train of awful that's been his last... Idk, three? Months? Two and a half, really. So he's not going to be participating in much re: the wendigo holes unless I plot something with someone there.

Character Deets:He's your resident (formerly!) blind fantasy Chinese wizard who had his fifteen minutes of fame once but then life was very rude to him and he's been squatting in a funeral home with two street kids, one of whom he's learned is his mortal enemy. He's been goin' through some shit.
What are you excited to do in game?: I just really like Xingchen making friends and deepening his bonds with those he's already met. The CR I've gotten has been really fun. I'm down fore more of the same!
General Character plans?: He asked your friendly neighborhood birthday skelly for some new eyeballs so depending on how that turns out, he's going to be a little more active, hopefully. He'll still need some time adjusting because the sight part of his brain has been turned off for a few years now, so I'm excited to work on things of that nature. I'd love for people to help him reacclimate himself to normal tasks, like handwriting and sword fighting. With the new dojo popping up, this happened at the perfect time.
For the event, I think he'll help out as part of the rescue squad, so if you need a helping hand, he'll happily offer his own!
