OOC Plotting Meme!

Welcome to the plotting meme! This is for plotting for October, and for the event, Fall Adjustment. Just remember that on October 10th, Rufus Shinra will be hosting a late (and not so late) Welcome party with Admin sponsorship! It'll be a very fun party, with music, dancing, and overall fanciness.

Characters will also notice in their directories the addition of the NPC Inbox! So if your character is likely to poke the Powers that Be, that's where you can get a hold of them ~~for now~~.

That being said, let's get on with the Planning!

Event thoughts: rubs hands together... what a perfectly pleasant and low-key way to get to know people that i will RUIN (no, not really) (unless...?)
Offering:

Planting shenanigans! Or at least help with them; Larkspur had already worked out on the TDM that he needed to Appease the Gourds by planting new ones, but...he can't grow anything himself without killing it. So if anyone wants him to owe them several favors...
Want someone to be a dick about the fruit-bobbing pails by pretending to drown but not actually drowning because he's undead and doesn't need to breathe? He's your guy.
Melancholy commentary on the offering table. Also, as one of the dead, being vulnerable to offerings himself. ...Want him to owe you a favor without having to do anything harder than burning some incense?
Generally being unsettling and undead.

Establishing some CR this first month in!! Positive, negative, you name it let's do it.

Other ideas for October:

Larkspur has some theories about what the island is he's already looking to confirm (see link above). This may culminate in him doing some stupid things later in the month. Or not-so-stupid things if he finds out you can submit questions directly to the people in charge.
If there are no major monsters around this month, he will also begin to run into trouble with that pesky requirement he kill something sapient to avoid suffering himself. He...might need to ask for help with that...

Event thoughts So Mikumo is probably going to find this all a bit weird since she's not really familiar with Halloween, but at the very least she'll give a table offering because dues to...whatever happens to be lurking around is one of the things she does know about these kinds of celebrations. She'll probably do the fruit thing once but then be a bit wary of shoving her face in a bucket of water that's clearly trying to motivate her to shove her face in it (she can breathe underwater but like. STILL WEIRD). But maybe she'll get a fruit seed from it that she can plant to appease the pumpkin gods.
Besides that, she's likely to be generally curious about the food because she only recently stopped being on a stupid strict diet, and she's somewhat uncomfortable with eating in front of others so people are welcome to find her trying to eat subtly in weird out of the way places.
Offering: Someone to stop people from making bad life choices probably??? She's used to worse than just creepy so she'll probably take most of what's going on in stride, but if she sees someone freezing their arm or something then she'll be ready to drag them out and roast them for being stupid. But also someone with very little social experience with these kinds of party situations.
Interested in: For now I'm mostly looking at getting some CR off the ground! Whether it's silly or serious or what have you, if someone needs roasting for angering the funky spirits or needs company to lightly judge everyone else for their party habits, I'm open to pretty much anything. Also she might side-eye that gun shop because rip she would've liked a weapon she's somewhat familiar with.

Other ideas for October Mikumo has kind of a tendency to wander off alone to weird places so she's probably going to be found in all sorts of bizarro locations while she's settling in. She may also be found singing in weird places, which might just sound nice but also has the potential to affect people emotionally, more on that over here and also an opt-in if anyone is interested in Very emotionally affective music.

Event thoughts It's all so good!!!! Roxas is very excited since holidays are still a fairly new thing. Dressing up for Halloween and the cat decorations will be his favorite. And the food. So much food.

Offering:
- Might not have a green thumb, but Roxas can be convinced to help plant things! Though he will find the pumpkins cute.
- More than excited to try fruit bobbing or any other games there are.
- If you need someone to eat with, he's your guy. Because new and interesting foods.
- Otherwise, there is any and all sorts of things I am up for planning.

Event thoughts
figaro... doesn't really celebrate halloween (he may have heard of it from countless sages that get isekai'd into their world but their world doesn't really do something like that probably), but he does like to party! he'll find the event kind of amusing (so long as they aren't celebrating it bc of the moon or anything... kinda sus that there are mooncakes being served here so he'll avoid that)

- he... probably might drown himself doing the fruit-bobbing games, rip. this isn't his first time chasing after the good old days with his dead family and friends in frigid water, after all
- he's learned his lesson re: pumpkin-smooshing, so he's going to help plant seeds! he also taught his students how to prepare before getting their hands dirty.
- he'll offer something nice to the chairs! he knows better than to anger the spirits, anyway.

Offering:
A gentle, if not goofy wizard who is also a doctor! Figaro gets along with most people, including ones who are too belligerent, and he might anger others anyway bc he never fucking shuts up. If any of you guys need some healing or even therapy (because lbr everyone in this game needs it, including himself), he can give you some magical sugar that can clear your mind a bit.

But he's not that good of a person, honestly. Let's just say he violated the Hippocratic oath in more ways than one? But he's rly good at hiding that side of him so who knows when he'll be found out.

Event thoughts OH BOY. ~~laughs at all the nerds that rely on guns tbh~~
The only part Hide might be familiar with is offering food to whatever ghostly spirits that are H O N G R Y since shrines are something she interacts with regularly. Otherwise it's gonna be "hi I'm paranoid" from beginning to end. Free food? Totally poisoned. Mysterious knocking at night? DEMONS TRYING TO MURDER NAPPING VICTIMS.
Look, she's good at two things. A) being a wet blanket, and B) waiting for someone else to take a big ol' bite out of stuff first and seeing if they die. Pragmatism at its finest, I guess??? She's not particularly subtle about it either.

Offering: A whole lot of hovering around the snack booths and waiting for a poor unsuspecting volunteer food taster to take the first leap, tbh. Most of the food is going to be completely foreign to her, so getting a little posse of misfits to do laps stuffing their faces could be fun!
Alternatively if your character gets a little too invested in the fruit bobbing game, she'd be the type to trundle on up and pull them out by the collar of the shirt if necessary. Sure, it'll probably be followed by the usual "wtf are you stupid" scolding, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Other ideas for October Roasting chestnuts! Cooking sweet potatoes! Gathering fallen leaves for a HUGE FIREBAL-- uh I mean... cozy bonfire.

Event thoughts Some of these prompts are so cute, wheezes softly... I'll definitely be treating this one as a time to build CR!! I especially love the offering and the festival aspects, it's giving me warm feelings in my cold, dead heart...

Event thoughts Kabane's first Halloween! He will be fascinated. Also super confused by the costumes.

Offering
➤ Someone to haul your giant pumpkins away! Kabane will assume the ones without faces can be eaten no problem and will attempt to cook them while having no knowledge of pumpkin recipes. He's not a terrible cook; he just lacks experience. Someone help him out.
➤ Extreme apple bobbing! Come find Kabane trapped in a solid block of ice because he wouldn't take his head out of the damn apple water even after frostbite set in. Considering this is Kabane, there may even be severed frostbitten arms floating in the apple water with him. Because. Of course.
➤ A confused thirteen year old who doesn't understand Halloween at all. And hasn't tried pretty much any of these treats. And who I assume can't get drunk because he has no blood.

Interested in
➤ All of the above, but also bad luck shenanigans! Whether Kabane's the unlucky one or someone else has the honor, I just want to play a ridiculous escalation of terrible things happening until someone has to be locked in a closet for their own safety or something.

Event thoughts Primarily focusing on the bobbing for apples and costumes part of this event. There's other things I have in mind (see: her event toplevel) too, but that's my biggest two.
Offering:

She's a genki girl with a lot of confidence and also a leader type. Also an heiress for One of the Big Families in her village. Her family is also kinda sorta yakuza.

Event thoughts: this is all super cute!! ferdie kind of loves a good party, so party hardy time
Offering:

♘ bobbing for fruits! he’ll definitely stay in the water for longer than is safe, so he’s going to get chilled to the bone. he's usually so prim and proper (and also not accustomed to the cold?!) so i am ready to see him shivering from hypothermia, help him

♘ he can help you get warmed up or resuscitate you if you get too waterlogged! prepare for his very not medically sound heimlich maneuver/mouth to mouth resuscitation, as per whatever he learned by living near the water in the 1100's. other than that, he will start a fire for you and lend you his coat, like a real noble would!

♘ he’ll be taking an offering from the table by accident! you can catch him around, getting his long hair caught in things, and generally being a klutz. he might get an injury or two during this mess and need patching up! i’m happy to plan out something funny and specific with this because i love dumb shenanigans like that

♘ he will also like, definitely think some of the costumes are regular clothes, such as this pied piper costume. he is also a huge fan of the opera and would find wearing costumes fun, don’t think he will see anything bad about this honestly bc who doesn’t love dressing up??

♘ he can also dance and sing with people at the party! come learn a traditional adrestian waltz from him, or indulge him in his singing. he thinks he’s really good at it, so lets do some karaoke to some 90’s hits. its tearing up my HEART when im with YOU

Interested in:

♘ tbh? people to save/help him out when he’s down and out from the aftermath of bobbing for apples; at his home he’s usually the one who likes to help others so it would be nice for him to be helped! it’ll also be a good opportunity to talk about ~home life~ since people will be missing whoever they saw in the water.

♘ same goes for bad luck! help him untangle his hair, or get dragged into his bad luck along with him. or we can combine bad luck so something super unlucky happens if you’ve also taken an offering? the possibilities are endless 👀

♘ obligatory anything goes; ferdinand is very talkative and friendly and typically doesn’t even pick up on people being awkward/shy so he’s a great match for characters that have issues reaching out because he’ll just invite them along to whatever he’s doing. he IS that extrovert friend

♘ i sort of had an idea of ferdinand trying to organize a list of rules or laws to abide by for the town by opening discussion about it, probably through a text post! he’s set to become a prime minister in his canon so he would be thinking about “legislation” very loosely here. but in his mind he would be thinking about creating some sort of order, or at least testing the waters on what people think

Event thoughts: lottie will be very confused because she's going from full summer heat to autumn weather!! otherwise she'll be getting tempted by all the wacky spooky stuff going on also.. free food!! costumes.. looking pretty in public

∎ looking for someone to help garden in exchange for a) doing little work and b) getting some of them to eat? lottie is here!!
∎ she'll gossip to anyone in the same aisle as her at the market!! come sympathize with her about being kidnapped and forced to look at cat decorations
∎ need someone who is acquainted with the supernatural but is still very much scared?? lottie's got you covered! she won't investigate any knocking on the doors or pumpkins but she'll provide emotional support :')
∎ lottie is going to see all her friends when she stops being a stick in the mud and bobs for some apples! as a result, she'll be returning every night to test her limits with the cold so she can figure out a mystery re: her social circle at home. there's a possibility she might drown if left to her own devices.. 👀
∎ she's going to be wall flowering it up at the party!! and while she doesn't want to go, she desperately needs to leave the house.. and also wants someone to convince her to go because she likes to feel included ✨ overall she will be going in costume, and equally freaking out about how she can't take the damn thing off as she 'socializes'. specific party things will include:

♡ trying to hide the weird and suspicious note on her hand the entire time - ever seen someone eat ramen with just one hand bowl and all?? you will now
♡ she WILL be taking selfies!
♡ if she's feeling particularly overwhelmed she might sit inside one of the booths.. come get scared when she pops up to see who the hell is touching her safe haven(tm)
♡ eventually will meander her way to the bonfire to rest and sit, maybe ~bond and listen to some stories.
∎ optionally: texting!! lottie will be living on the computer and feeling lonely at all times so anyone who wants her to text them (even if they are in the same room) is entirely possible

∎ generally i'd just like for lottie to dip her toes in the water and get a little more emotionally stable while meeting people. she's coming from an especially stressful canon point so anything (good, questionable, or bad) to help get her mind off of things would be amazing!!

mainly stealth investigating whatever the hell this means: "You're on the border. An inch too far, and allergies will be the last thing on your mind." she'll be mostly preoccupied with how it got on her hand and who knows her secret!! she'll probably be finding a map to the place and studying it up, making notes for herself of everything she's found and her new hidey holes when she wants to be #sad. she'll also be trying to make a trip to the lighthouse! and stealing stuff from the clinic, shopping for dinner at the market.. basically just starting a new routine for herself when she's done moping around! possibly attending the party later on in the month on the condition someone drags her to it!

Event thoughts THIS IS REAL CUTE Xingchen does not know what Halloween is but festivals are fun! And if everyone else is having a good time, then that can't be bad, right? So he'll happily join in!

Offering:
- Bobbing for...persimmons! Hearing his Yi City fam again! Hearing his estranged ~~boyfriend~~ friend again......! He shouldn't be stupid enough to get himself hypothermia, but, I mean...
- Hey, don't take offerings not meant for you! Don't make Xingchen be the offering table police, that's no fun for anyone! But if you need someone to explain at least a general idea of what's going on there, he'll do his best! Considering he's not entirely sure how it's supposed to go down, either.
- I will get back to you on what costume he's getting because decisions are really hard, okay, don't look at me, I'm doing mY BEST. But he'll take part in the festivities and he'll go to Rufus' party and he'll be as social as a blind man can be! Don't be shy and strike up a conversation with him! Or, heck, just grab his hand and take him wherever you want, he'll probably let you.
- Get dat booze, tho. I can be persuaded (read: please encourage me) to get him just a little too tipsy/drunk. I'm sure that will be entertaining.

Interested in: This seems to be a happy event, but I'm all for making shit sad. Xingchen is still pretty tight-lipped on his Tragic Backstory™, but who knows if something could slip under the right circumstances. Otherwise, I'm all for making some more CR, strengthening the friendships he's started, and even going for negative CR! But, like, he's disgustingly nice 95% of the time so why would you hurt me him like that.

Other ideas for October He'll still be trying to learn the layout of the island and while he's not part of the official patrol, he can be found going out at night just in case something feels Wrong. He's a cultivator still, after all, and night hunts are one of the things in which he still partakes. Look out if you're a corpse-y person, though, because his sword is a heat-seeking missile right for you, sorry 'bout it.

Event thoughts
adora has never celebrated halloween before, so this is all new to her. considering what life in the fright zone was like (the hint is in the name) she might need a bit to figure out what's supposed to be fun about being scared, but she'll come around when she realizes it's not actually scary, just vaguely spooky.

Offering:
» she is gonna freak out over all the cute cat decorations. even the less cute ones, if there are any. they remind her of catra, so ofc she loves them, and she's definitely gonna try and take a few home with her. catch her ooh-ing and aah-ing over them like a dork, and making sure e v e r y o n e knows how great they are. have you seen this cat lantern?? you have now!!

» she'll be doing the apple bobbing game a bunch, because free food, a challenge, and a few moments that make her feel like she's back in bright moon? sign her the hell up. she misses her friends a lot; enough to keep dunking her head in until she passes out surrounded by like, fifty apple cores. someone should probably tell her to Stop.

» she... will probably be getting unintentionally drunk for the first time in her life, because she doesn't know the difference between the two ciders. which means she's going to be A Lot to handle. and incredibly embarrassed about it afterward, even if she remembers nothing. may or may not come with a protective catgirl wrangler.

» anyone to help explain things. she knows what a party is now, thankfully, but that's about the extent of her knowledge. she'll be at both the welcome party and the autumn festivities; the former probably as she-ra, the latter as herself, and sticking out like a sore thumb regardless.

» people to freak her out with their costumes! again, (probably) not a thing on etheria, so she'll take any outfits 10000% at face value at first. and then pretend she Totally Knew All Along that it was fake. ha ha, very funny, she definitely didn't think that blood was real. don't be such a kidder, the look of panic was just a test.

» she'll need help with the seeds, because that's perfuma's bag, not hers. she will be feeling awful about all the pumpkin breaking (and eating...) incidents once she realizes what's going on, and very determined to make right with them.

Other ideas for October silently freaking out about the weird note she got, and trying to figure out if anyone else did too without actually bringing up the contents of it. she'll also want to work on improving her healing abilities at some point, since that's been the cause of a lot of stress for her back home. otherwise, i'll bounce off whatever happens with other characters!

Event thoughts: A very nice variety of things to do, should be a fun way to get some new interactions going~
Offering:
- Chilling at the new gun store, judging the current stock hard
- He irritated a bunch of pumpkins upon arrival and now there's so many showing up in his house, someone help him get rid of them/tell him how to make them stop
- Freaking out at the apple bobbing because happiness? friendship?? Awful, get it away from him.
- He will 100% make an extremely sarcastic offering and get cursed, so anyone who wants to keep him from getting himself killed would be welcome!
- Hanging out at the booths, eating and probably getting drunk at some point (in costume, of course)

Other ideas for October: Nothing in particular! Right now he'll be focused on settling in and adjusting to the new normal, getting to know his roomies, staring at his smartphone when he thinks no one's looking... the usual. Event thoughts This all sounds like fun! IG-11 hasn't really celebrated any holidays before, so this will all be curious and new and will absolutely require further investigation.

Offering: Someone willing to learn all about Halloween. Some initial ideas I have include:

* Planting pumpkin and other veggie seeds. In canon, he was restored and reprogrammed by an old farmer, and in the TDM, Aerith "taught" him how to speak to the pumpkins, so he'll be very much interested in trying to turn that durasteel thumb into a green one.
* A trip to the gun store. IG-11 came equipped with his old arsenal, but the Mandalorian let him know that ammunition is limited. He'll be disappointed to learn that the weapons provided here seem to lack ammunition - maybe he can commiserate with a new friend or foe?
* Bobbing for apples! Problem being that IG-11 doesn't have teeth... I could very well see him reaching into the water just to experiment, only to wind up losing one of his limbs. In which case, he may need to connect with a skilled mechanic.
* I'd also really love it if someone decided to dress IG-11 up in a costume, since he would have no idea what to do on his own.

Interested in: Making new CR, positive or negative! This is his first month here, so the more the merrier.

Offering: twelve year old child soldier slash baby titan shifter falco grice! if you want a child to adopt, he’s your boy. he’ll also adopt you. he’s generally very sweet, friendly, resourceful and mostly a pacifist (unless he’s gotta do something or else). has a bad habit of jumping in front of danger to shield the people he loves 😭 many have recently been spoiling him with modern royalties like soda and juice and s’mores and candy so he’s rather easy to please! just don’t tell his roommate/guardian mister connor-51 because that’s a lot of sugar and he will not be pleased 🚨🚨🚨

Interested in: adults (he’ll probably call you “mister” or “miss” unless otherwise stopped), children his age or at least close to it to befriend, and negative cr of any kind/people who don’t care that he’s a kid is actually my jam! other soldier-types to bond with (or just dislike his known participation if they’re to find out) is something i love to write too ☺️ i’m open your pretty much anything and everything!

🐤the festivities will look super neat but after last month’s happenings falco will definitely be more cautious and pensive with their surroundings! he might not immediately trust people until he’s sure things are safe but that doesn’t mean he won’t have manners with them! he’ll definitely be curious about the decorations and ask about them, so teaching him about the different celebrations of halloween along with customs 🎃 would be awesome. maybe if they could trick or treat...............

🐤 falco will definitely be visiting the gun store! despite his pretty small hands he knows how to work a firearms of all kinds like any trained adult would, and can be found in there at any time trying to dissemble weaponry. this won’t actually work yet since they uh, don’t work

🐤 help the pumpkins and midnight knocking is creepy 🙈 thus, he’s not really good at gardening at all so planting seeds is in the cards for any green thumbs to help this green horn! if he knows about pumpkin carving by then (which i’ll be playing by ear, he will), he’ll carve jack-o-lanturns out of the pumpkins whatever size they are. he can handle hollowing out the titan pumpkins even! he’s adept at digging . . . . trenches . . .

🐤 it’s going to take a lot of insistence and even proof that the apple bobbing game won’t burn your face off or drag you into the bucket abyss for falco to try it out, so he’ll need someone to do it first (once they get past his pleas to NOT DO IT). he’ll be extra saddened and homesick when he hears his loved ones, so talking about their respective homes and friends after would be neat to peel off the edge!

🐤 in regards to the offerings and party, falco could be present for all of them! a perfect time to be spoiled, he’ll also be dressed up as tweety bird, courtesy of nammah. while he’ll be a little uncertain about the lull and voice that, he’ll try and have fun with people who’d want to have fun with him!

🐤 last but not least, falco has earned a marking of some sort after an attempted second shift last month— it’s kind of spooky. there will be some investigating involving that so feel free to have characters notice!

Event thoughts: Connor-60 has literally no idea how to chill, so he probably won't stop for parties or games. He will, however, be checking out that gun shop... and being utterly disgusted by what's inside.

Offering: An asshole robot who's already out of bullets. Connor-60 is the sociopathic, sadistic version of Connor-51, aka the nicer robot who's wandering around. This Connor's too obsessed with his (murder) mission and with being a Good Machine to intentionally get involved with fluffy things, but that doesn't mean he can't trip into them by accident.

Interested in: New CR, or developing the old stuff! Connor is a font of negative CR, and I enjoy this. I wouldn't mind him getting some more positive things too, but it'll take either concerted effort or people who share a more functional goal.

Connor-60's Murder-War With -51: ...continues, now with a New Addition. Early in the month, he's going to be catching up with Hank Anderson, then using him as bait to take down -51. Which will last all of half an hour, but it's the thought that counts.
Bad Time With Biology: Last month, Connor died so much he woke up with Nerves. After one (unending) freakout, he committed to getting said nerves out, and has been trying to do so since. He's likely to hit up admin about this very soon, which could go interestingly. But CRwise, he might be interested in making allies with the medical or technical skill to help fix him. He might also be found struggling with his newly enhanced sense of... everything.
Network Hacking: Connor's engaged in an ongoing war with the Weird, Un-Interfaceable Programming inside the phones. Last month he went so far as to make allies with a human (Ethan!) to try and learn more, and could definitely be willing to do more of that in the future. Tech not!friends get?
General Fallout: Connor shot some people last month! Connor is also likely to injure some people (Hank and Connor-51 for sure) this month. I'm 100% down for people giving him a bad time about that, or just poking him to ask why he's so shitty.

🦇 Bakugou is going to be cranky, but he's a hero so he'd be "willing" to help people deal with the curses. He's also not really one to play games, but he is good to forcibly stop others from making bad choices at this point?
🦇 Vanitas will be in the gun store, looking over the changes. He's interested in food, but not games. However he's more like a feral cat so he's the perfect one for more upbeat or friendly characters to try to work their magic on.

🦇 CR! Positive or negative. My guys are not the easiest to get along with, but it can be done with a little bit of time ( Bakugou ) and a lot of patience/understanding ( Vanitas ). Character interaction is what I live for.
🦇 More socialization for Vanitas so that he's not actively trying to avoid people. This is at least one of my goals to make things a bit easier to put him out there.

in regards to the welcome party that's going to be held, courtesy of rufus and his big mouth, the log post will go up on october 10th, sometime in the evening KST. that means it will likely be up early in the day for everyone on the other side of the world! there are a lot of fun (?) events to take part in, so i really hope everyone will drop by and mingle. ♥

Event thoughts Ethan's going to be pretty low-key in this one, I think. Too much going on in his head and he doesn't really have much interest in gatherings in the first place
Offering: one Ethan in largely even quieter configuration than usual tbh? I probably won't be topleveling or will do individual starters, or the single toplevel will probably be the dumbest thing.

Which is Ethan getting stuck in a fursuit sans head because idk, the closet was otherwise full of dresses or something because the world hates him. Might also be a case of vampire costume too. The things he does to avoid being cold af.

Shady exorcist behavior!! Chanting, weird drawings on the ground, menacingly offering people pieces of fruit while wearing a bag over his head-- he knows how he comes across, he's just like this.
A willingness to experiment with all sorts of things short of what he considers straight up stupid behavior (ie, sticking his face in a bowl of water and fruit or stealing from an offering table). Whether related to the event or not, honestly. Let's throw malformed guns into the water and see what happens?
He has a stupid lizard living on his body and he hates it so people should feel free to ask about it
